All our Grade 4 to Grade 12 learners started exams this Monday.  We wish all our students the best for the mid year exams!

Our U18 Volleyball boys came second at the Westrand Youth Volleyball Festival this past weekend and brought home a trophy. Congratulations!

INFOMATRIX 2018

Two of our Grade 10 learners are currently in Bucharest, Romania for the Infomatrix 2018 World Finals. Ridhwaan Patel and Benedict Lefoka are members of the Star College Cinema Club. We participated at Infomatrix with two short movies named “Ubuntu” and “Favour”. We are proud of representing South Africa 🇿🇦 . Good luck boys, wish you all the best!!

TERM 1 TOP LEARNER PLACEMENT CERTIFICATES

Star college Pretoria held a special assembly to hand over top placement certificates for term 1. We congratulate all our top learners and wish them all the best for the second term. I believe that you will continue to challenge one another.

Star College shines in Robotics

GISUTECH is an International Informatics Project Competition organized by Galaxy International School Uganda to encourage young people to apply their imagination, their passion, and their creativity to technology innovations that can make a difference in the world today.

As Star College Pretoria, we participated in Hardware Control and Line Follower categories. Our boys were awarded with an excellent achievement with their robots and got 2 Golds (Justin Hulley and Jedidiah Kanju) and 1 Bronze (Ruiz Levendal). We are proud of you guys!

During the month of October our High School boys took part in trials for Tshwane Municipality Basketball Team

to compete in the “O R Tambo Social Cohesion Games 2017”.

Congratulations to the following boys who have been selected;

Grade 8: Khutso and Kabelo

Grade 10: Tawfeek, Omar, Thumelo, Mapulani, Lesedi, Ukho, and Sifiso

These boys will now compete for a position in the Gauteng Team and then move on to represent our School and Country in Italy in 2018.

Selected high school boys competed in the South African Natural, Life and Physical Science Olympiad. Congratulations to Ridhwaan Patel, Logan Naude and Oussama Bera for receiving a Gold certificate of Merit. Keep up the excellent work, you are making us proud!

GR 9 CAREER CHOICE GUIDANCE

On Tuesday 17 October the parents of our Grade 9 learners were invited to a presentation to discuss their sons’ subject choices for Grades 10 – 12. Parents were urged to consider their sons’ interests, strengths and talents when guiding their children towards sensible choices. The various matric subject choice and performance criteria for various popular courses of study were also discussed.
