INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE EXPO

Star College Pretoria is very proud to announce that both Carl Smith (Grade 10) and RowshenMuhammet Orazmyradov (Grade 11) were the recipients of silver medals in the final round of the Eskom Science Expo, held during the October holidays.

GR 4 MOVIE EXCURSION

On Tuesday, 26 September,  both grade 4 classes went to the Ster Kinekor movie theatre in the Grove Mall. The learners had a day filled with fun and laughter watching the ‘Emoji Movie’. Thank you to Miss Ross and Miss de Jager for organising this fun day for the grade 4 learners.

WELL DONE KARATE KID – YUWHAN GOVINDER

Yuvhan started his Karate career in February 2016 with JSKA South Africa, under the instruction of the Soon Pretorius Karate Academy. The Academy was established in 2002, by 8th Dan, Soon Pretorius. The style of Karate practiced by this academy is Shotokan Karate, which dates back to 1868.

We are very proud to announce that our frade 4, Kea Selemane has participated in the SACEE creative writing competition and was invited to the prize giving held on the 15th of September 2017. Kea received an award for her story “The Peacock and the Crow”. This has been an amazing achievement for Kea and Star College Pretoria

GRADE 7 ENTREPRENEURS DAY 2017

 The grade 7 learners had their entrepreneurs day on the 1st of September 2017. They were so excited that you could feel their energy in the air. At 9am they started setting up and a few parents were there to help them. It was so interesting to see how they were in charge of every little aspect of their stall. Some of the boys made boerewors rolls on a gas stove and some even braaied. They had one hour to set up and everyone was ready to sell their products by 10am.

The 2017 edition of the John “Shoes” Moshoeu  Cup proved to be extremely exciting, challenging and all around fun for all those who participated and a great spectacle for spectators to see such young talent on display.

The group stage’s were hard fought events with there being two groups of five teams, with only the top two teams of each group going through to the semi-final stage.

Grade 10 PROGRAMMING GURUS  to go to the second round of the IT Programming Olympiad. If they proceed they will compete in the finals at UCT. Good luck to these boys, we know you will do us proud. Keep up the excellent work!

 

WRO ROBOTICS OLYMPIAD

WRO ROBOTICS OLYMPIAD

Grade 9  TEAM competed in the Junior Provincial Robot Olympiad and placed first overall. They have now been selected to participate in the National Robot Olympiad which will be held in Pretoria on the 9th of September. If they qualify, they will go to Costa Rico to represent South Africa! We wish you all the best!
